You already have what it takes to become successful.
You know that. You can feel it in your bones.
But if you already have what it takes, then why haven’t you achieved your dreams?
It’s probably because, despite your skills and resources, you’re unwittingly doing one of these four things that can sabotage the success of even the most skilled career-minded person:
You keep making excuses
One sure way to sabotage your success is to let your perception of your limitations prevent you from even starting.
Not enough capital? Consider starting small or putting up a separate savings fund until you can get started.
You don’t know where to start? Look at your future competitors to see what they’re doing or invest in online resources that would point you to the specific steps you can take.
Once you realize that you’re holding on to your excuses to keep yourself from taking risks, then you’re one step closer to working on your goals.
I will help you realize these excuses for what they are on April 10 during the Personal Effectiveness Program. We’ll talk about your self-limiting beliefs and how you can let go of them to pursue your goals.
You don’t have goals
How do you know you’ve reached “success” when you don’t even know what it means for you?
Your goals don’t have to be fancy or detailed, but they have to be specific, measurable, and realistic.
Most importantly, they need to be written down and always in your mind so you don’t lose sight of the prize.
You compare yourself to your peers
They say that the grass is always greener on the other side.
Well, they would be if you spend your time looking at them instead of watering your own.
Comparisons are useless because only you would have the skill level that you have, using the resources that you have at this particular point in time.
Your neighbors are operating on their own blend of skill, resources, and time.
Focus on running your own race.
You often return to your bad habits
After working on your goals for a while, you get a sense of which habits can further your goals and which ones are unproductive.
The problem comes when you fall back into these unproductive habits after not seeing the results that you want.
Maybe you’ll go back to staying up all night to watch k-dramas because you missed your weekly sales target. Or maybe you’ll procrastinate on your tasks again after receiving less-than-stellar reviews from your boss.
Work on doing more of what works for you and less of what isn’t working. Adjust for changes that need to be made but make sure to always keep moving forward.
That’s it for me today!
If you need help getting started on your success, then I highly encourage you to join the Personal Effectiveness Program on April 10. We’ll talk about the self-limiting beliefs that you have and the steps you can take to work on your goals.
See you there!
